WebThe Oxford Impacts series celebrates the range of impacts the University has on the world of policy, health, business and culture. All of this is enabled by the world-leading research of Oxford academics. This set of case studies showcases academic research, across a range of subjects, that has had an impact on the world. WebGeography is a wide, challenging and stimulating degree course which addresses many central questions about the environment, human society and the relationship between the two. The College admits about 4 undergraduates each year to read geography; although most will have studied geography at A-level (or equivalent) this is by no means compulsory. WebPreviously called the Herbertson Society, Oxford’s original geography society was named after renowned geographer Andrew John Herbertson (1865-1915), one of the first Readers at the University’s School of Geography – which was itself one of the first geography departments at a university in Britain!
